All three share the same 2-1/2 and 4 inch powder coated posts, so the choice is the rail and the infill. ALX Contemporary is the modern line and takes either 1/8 inch stainless horizontal cable or pre-welded rectangle rail baluster panels. Rapid Rail is pre-welded square baluster panels only, which is fewer parts per run and the lower price of the two aluminum lines. Composite is the heavier traditional look, in 6 and 8 foot sections with square composite or round aluminum balusters. All three come at 36 and 42 inches, level or stair.

More than railing, which is why this page is the whole catalog rather than one system. Aluminum balusters in round, square and scroll profiles retrofit wood, composite or aluminum rail. Decorative post caps cover 4x4, 6x6 and 8x8 posts in copper, cedar, pressure treated and solar. Cast stone post covers slip over a 4x4 or 6x6 and turn it into a column. Then aluminum fence panels at 48, 54 and 60 inches, lattice in 4 by 8 sheets, and modular privacy screens.

What does the Deckorators warranty cover?

Railing carries a lifetime limited warranty with 25 year removal and replacement and 10 year coastal coverage. Composite railing is warranted 25 years structural and 25 years against stain and fade. Aluminum balusters carry the lifetime limited warranty plus the 10 year coastal term. Cast stone post covers are 15 years. Claims run through us as the dealer.

What finishes does Deckorators come in?

Aluminum railing comes in textured black, textured bronze, textured white and weathered brown, over an AAMA 2604 powder coat, which is the outdoor-grade specification rather than the builder-grade AAMA 2603. Balusters come in black, bronze and white. Composite railing is white or black. Post covers come in beige and gray stone textures.

Does Deckorators railing meet code?

The ALX horizontal cable system is evaluated under ICC-ES report CCRR-0280, and the baluster lines are built to the 4 inch sphere rule at standard spacing. Rail heights are 36 and 42 inches for guard height. Your building official makes the final call, so tell us your jurisdiction and we will send the report it asks for.

Can you mix Deckorators with another brand?

On the same run, no. Posts, brackets and rails are cut and drilled for their own system, and a mixed run puts the load path through parts that were never evaluated together. On the same deck, yes, and people do it to put cable where the view is and baluster everywhere else. Tell us where the change happens and we will lay out both sides.
