Yes. Keylink vertical cable kits are approved for interior and exterior use.
What heights and section lengths are available?
Heights are 36 in and 42 in. Sections are 6 ft and 8 ft. The 8 ft section is 93 in actual.
What cable size and spacing are used?
1/8 in stainless cable, chemically blackened, spaced 3 in on center.
What posts does this system use?
Post heights are 38 in and 44 in. Post sizes are 2.5 in and 3.25 in. This system does not use line, corner, or end post types.
What finish is used? Is there a coastal option?
Powder coat is AAMA 2604. There is no 2605 coastal option at this time.
Is it DIY friendly and how long does install take?
Yes. One to two people can install it. Plan about one hour per section with two people.
What tools do I need?
Drill or driver, level, saw, tension gauge, gripping adapter or gripping pliers, and a cable cutter.
Do I need blocking? What about stairs?
Provide 3 in of solid blocking at posts. Stairs include a 32β36Β° bracket. Use stair wedges or swivel brackets for other angles.
Is it code compliant?
Built to meet and exceed typical residential and commercial guard needs. Cables are 3 in on center to help meet the 4 in sphere rule when tensioned. Check local code.
Is the black cable painted?
No. The cable is chemically blackened and does not leave oily residue.
Will it hold up near water?
There is no AAMA 2605 coastal finish option. For harsh salt exposure, ask before you buy.
