Columns
Superior offers five column choices for their pergolas:
- 6" Plain: This post provides a minimalistic, modern design.
- 8" Square: This square post offers a larger profile, and an additional mid post trim.
- 8" & 10" Tapered: Tapered columns are a classic pergola design element. These rounded posts are wide at the bottom and narrow at the top.
- Savannah: This styles features an 8" square bottom and 6" square top with recessed details.
Beams
These robust 2x8 dimension beams act as the backbone of the structure, ensuring its integrity and long-lasting performance. Mounted securely on top of the columns, they are responsible for supporting the weight of the rails and shade structure, distributing the load evenly.
Rails
Available in 2x6 inch dimensions, these rails come in three distinct styles: straight, arched, and those designed specifically for louvered shades. The straight rails provide a classic, clean-lined look, while the arched rails add an elegant curve to the pergola's profile.
Louvered pergolas have become popular for their increased shade. The rails for louvered shades are specially punched to use with louvered shades.

Shades
Superior's pergolas come with three versatile shade options to suit different preferences and needs: 1-1/2” square, 1-3/4” square, and 7/8” x 3” louvered. The 1-1/2” and 1-3/4” square shades offer a classic, uniform look, with the slight size variation allowing for customizable light and shade balance. The 7/8” x 3” louvered style is designed to be paired with the louvered rail.
